gravatar logo thumb Enhancing Your Social Media Profile With a Gravatar! Today’s tip is going to focus on what is a Gravatar and how you can use it to expand your Social Media profile.

What I have come to discover is that surprisingly enough Gravatars aren’t very widely used in today’s online environment. Rather than this being a bad thing for you my friend & reader this is actually an opportunity to brand yourself in the minds of all those other folks

who are reading these blogs throughout the internet. Take a look at the video below and you will see what I mean:

When you are reading someone’s blog comments which comments stick out the most to you? Of course there are going to be those comments which are so insightful that they just demand your attention but for the most part since we are such visual creatures the comments which stick out the most are the ones with a nice smiling picture which precedes them. Now if you follow your smiling pic with commentary that is helpful and speaks to the matter of the subject than you are going to be much further ahead in your quest to develop your Social Media profile.

As always I love to hear your feedback so please don’t be shy about leaving a comment but before you do make sure to head on over to Gravatar.com and create your profile. Another really great service along the sames lines of Gravatar can be found at Disqus.com.

Do me a favor and if you liked this post then take the time and retweet it using the green box below. It would definitely be appreciated!

To Our Success,

John

This was a great video. I actually was doing some research on this last night. It is always nice to see a face to a post. I know myself as someone reading a comment it is easier to relate when there is a picture. Thanks for the video.

Hey John! Great blog. I love this article too. So many of my comments on my blog don’t have the picture with them and it is so much more inviting when you see a face next to the comment. I’m going to RT this and make sure everyone sees it!!

Thanks for the great instructions and for getting the word out about Gravatars.

Great post once again John :) I love using the gravatar and don’t know why more people haven’t caught on to it yet. It is a terrific way to get your face out there in front of more people.

Also thanks for the kind words! You already know that I think you’re great :)

John –

Your recommendation is on target. The value of leveraging your Gravatar image to make your comments more personal and provides you with another opportunity to connect with people by providing a little more of a sense of who you are – it is very effective.

Social media is about adding valuing and building relationships – great advice!

John,

Today I have been to Katie Frieling’s site and I was motivated about adding Google Friend Connect. So I did that. It totally make sense. I just need to find friends!

Now from that site, I’ve followed to your’s and you have great insight about Gravatar. Yes comments do stick out when there is a picture and a real person is behind it. Usually you can trust those comments when someone is willing to put their face out there. Totally make sense to integrate it into a site. I will look into this. Thanks for sharing it.

Hey John! Good stuff. I tried getting my gravatar profile started but there’s something wrong with my internet right now and it’s not loading. Lol. So that’s why you probably don’t see my pic.

Just wanted to show you some love. Adding a comment because I think your blog rocks and has a lot of good stuff on it! Ready to get mine going…

Keep on rockin brotha!

Hey John,

Thanks for the video!

People who are looking to brand themselves really NEED to have a gravatar when they answer posts. People connect visually and seeing a face with a post really helps. :)
